New iPods announced - Impressed??

Share
There has been no mix of reaction in the AMP3 office as
Apple spills out the next generation of iPods.

Getting a first glimpse of the next Gen iPods for many would have been an exciting moment
and for many many more perhaps a bit of an anti-climax...

The Touch - an iPhone is disguise? not quite!

Looking very similar to the iPhone 3G with Apple's "most advanced technology" (Steve Jobs) - some of which included nice 326dpi Retina Display, cameras on the front and the rear and enabled FaceTime videoconferencing over WIFI. The new cameras are an excellent addition however lacking to be as 'advanced' technologically as the iPhone 4's cameras - the "most advanced technology" eh?

All in, the iPod Touch 'does it' for many of you out there....does the new Gen do it for you?

The Nano

What happened to the Nano's click wheel? Its been there since it first came onto the scene! Personally, i think the click wheel is a necessity, skipping music with the Nano still in your pocket, using it 'blindly' is a great option to have.

None the less this is Apples best attempt at innovation (or reinventing) featuring a 1.54" 220ppi 240x240 TFT display. Its smaller, sleeker and 'touch sensitive'.

What are your thoughts on the Touch Sensitive screen on the Nano? Fan or do you prefer the Retro 'Click Wheel'?

The Shuffle - No that's not the 2nd Gen Shuffle you see, that's the new generation! Breaking loose from the fussy cable controls Apple have taken one step forward and two back on the design front - For the better it would seem. By bringing back the clickable buttons and combining them with the VoiceOver Technology - its a second and third gen hybrid!

The shuffle no ingenious innovation but there are new features...kind of! What do you think of the shuffle?

Let us know your opinions on the 'New Generation' of iPods, have apple done enough, are these as desireable as they should be?
