What is this bullshit about not using them as portable headphones? I have been using my Grados for 3 years with my MP3 player. They are very comfortable, doubling up as ear-muffs in the cold, and actually they leak less sound than than some cheap'n'nasty in-ear headphones. I just changed the 1/45 inch jack plug for a 3.5 mm one. Grado headphones are just wonderful, the sound quality just wipes the floor with everything else i've ever heard. they are the perfect accompaniment to my Cowon S9. Can't recommend them highly enough.
